Study space in Olin

It was the perfect place to study for Chem 207. In Olin, it was always quiet, and I could always concentrate.
- Rob Yellen '86 (with Samantha Yellen '15)

Manndible

"Manndible has great coffee for late-night studying."

- Cassandra Gallagher '13, Urban and Regional Studies

Olin's DVD collection

"I love taking out DVDs from the bottom floor of Olin -- whenever I want to watch a movie, I just go there. I especially like the foreign film selection and loads of interesting documentaries, as well as comedies and TV shows. In the winter, I probably go at least once a week or once every two weeks.

The library mindset

"I enjoy the Library because I'm able to get away from my desk and my computer, which is huge. To focus my energies on independent tasks and my research in a different environment gives me a totally different frame of mind."

- Alisa Royem, graduate student

Finding aids

"Using our Web site, researchers can find large amounts of catalog information, including our lists of thousands of vintage films. Finding aids describe and list the contents of a collection and provide an easy way to search for old Cornell games, for example."

- Evan Earle '02, special collections assistant

Study spaces in Kroch Asia

“It’s incredibly quiet and really warm. The individual seating is nice and the café is quite convenient (except during the lunch hour!) Studying into the night, it’s so nice to have a place to fill up your caffeine levels and get some sugar into your bloodstream.”

Christine Xu, undergraduate, CALS

The Library Annex

"Getting materials sent from the Annex really doesn't take long. If you have something you want that our library has, it's faster than Borrow Direct or Interlibrary Loan; it'll be here within a couple of days, and you can pick it up at whatever library you want it delivered to."

Career research support

"If you are looking for a job or getting ready for an interview, I highly recommend taking advantage of the library’s career research support. When my Career Center advisor directed me to a librarian at the Management Library, the results exceeded my expectations. Having learned how to research international career opportunities, visa requirements and U.S.

Library exhibitions

"We put on two major exhibitions every year, along with a handful of smaller ones, and it's a really great opportunity to get easy access to some of the amazing items in our collections. Also, for exhibitions, we often borrow things from other individuals, so it's a chance to see things that you usually can't find in one place."

Entrepreneurial support

"From building a business plan perspective, the Management Library provides a great resource to focus on the market viability.... Use the Library system. It is the world-class resource that you cannot find elsewhere and a really powerful addition that we have here at the University to get a great business off the ground."
