Request for Africana Studies Library Reference Consultation

The Africana Library Reference Consultation Service is available to any member of the Cornell community starting or working on a major library research project, including undergraduate honors students, undergraduates writing major term papers, graduate students beginning thesis work, and faculty. The Africana Librarian will schedule an appointment with you to discuss your research project, and can:

  • provide assistance in selecting the best resource for your subject area

  • suggest strategies for searching specific databases

  • help you identify and locate primary sources

  • develop your research strategies or evaluate your library research process to date

  • help you search the Web for relevant and reliable information

  • explain how to gain access to material held by other libraries

  • designing library subject guides for you courses
