Happy 10th birthday, chat reference!
This spring marks the 10th year of Cornell University Library's chat reference service. The service was born in 2000; in its infancy, it was only available Monday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. All grown up now, we're online 24/7 with the help of our after-hours academic cooperative partners.
On Thursday, April 8, at 3 p.m., birthday parties were held at Olin's LibeCafé and in the lobby of Mann Library with cake and a chance to win a $25 gift certificate courtesy of the Campus Store!
Chat "mascots" are here to help us celebrate!

What users say about chat reference:
|
"got exactly what i needed quickly ... very effective and efficient service"
"I wasn't sure which library to go to or who to talk to about my question. Normally I don't have such uncommon questions, but this time I needed more specific assistance. This service helped me figure out exactly what I could do, so it saved me a lot of time and headache!! It was very helpful!"
