The Meeting

SALALM is a brokerage for information services on Latin America and the Caribbean. Through its committees and theme panels, SALALM provides a space for librarians and scholars to discuss developments in research and communication. Alongside these formal sessions, booksellers display their latest offerings and make arrangement for delivery of materials during the coming year. This year's bookseller installation will take place in the Statler Hotel's Carrier Grand Ballroom.

The Site

Ithaca lies at the southern end of the Finger Lakes region of New York State, a site that in summer features ample greenery, flowing streams, and wine growing. The Statler Hotel, located in the center of the Cornell campus, will host SALALM 47 and most of its meetings. Ithaca features live theater, good restaurants and and a lively nightlife centered on The Commons and the Collegetown neighborhood, adjacent to Cornell.
