Conversion of LC Class F shelflist records

Project description
It is a collection of about 20,000 pre-1975 imprints of United States local history and British, Dutch, French, Latin and Spanish American history that are available now only in the card catalog in the John M. Olin Library on the Cornell University campus.
The records are to be converted by OCLC, Inc. Prior to sending the shelflist cards to OCLC, they will be searched in Voyager by students to remove the cards for already converted titles. OCLC will generate machine readable records and also provide the subsequent authority control. A file of bibliographic records in MARC format will be returned to us for loading in Voyager. Barcodes for the converted titles will be generated and applied under the direction of Access Services. Post-conversion authority work cleanup and barcode cleanup will be performed in the Technical Services Support Unit.
