Holdings: Printed materials (books, periodicals, printed music) 111,952 volumes, Sound recordings (Cds, Lps and 78 rpm recordings) : 41,610 albums, Video recordings : 540 tapes and discs.


The Music Library contains a collection of printed music, sound and visual recordings, and writings about music and dance. The collection reflects the research and performance interests of the Music and Dance Department faculty and students. It consists primarily of Western art music and dance, but also includes a representative body of non-Western, folk, and popular musics.

Music Library Hours

During term time the Music Library Hours are :

Sunday : 2pm - 11pm
Monday - Thursday : 9am - 11pm
Friday : 9am - 5pm
Saturday : Noon - 5pm

During University holiday periods and the summer the Music Library is open Monday - Friday: 9am-5pm

We are closed on Memorial Day, the 4th of July, Thanksgiving (Wednesday at 5pm until Sunday at 6pm), and the week between Christmas and New Years.
