In our search for the most important OAIS functions, trying to decide which ones we should work on first, we created these "stories". Each is composed of several of the functions on the diagram below (OAIS Reference Model Figure F-1: Composite of Functional Entities). They are more or less cohesive groupings of functions in one or more of our minds.

Clicking on a story link will take you to a similar diagram with the functions in that story highlighted. The highligted areas are linked to the corresponding function's definition in the OAIS Reference model.

NOTE: The diagram IS NOT a model of how a system is built. It IS NOT a UML diagram. It IS a kind of data flow diagram showing the functions or actions in an archive along with the messages that pass between functions.
