Digital Production
The unit provides expert scanning of photographs, manuscripts, text-based materials, and rare artifacts, using the latest hardware and software applications. Services include bitonal, grayscale, and color scanning (with special procedures for scanning fragile documents); digital photography (including color balancing); document structuring of image files, and optical character recognition (OCR). Web Development and Management
The group provides a range of web design, development, and maintenance services services to facilitate the development of the Librarys digital collections and services. Included among the responsibilities is the application management for DSpace, Luna Insight, DLXS, and CommonSpot. The group also provides preservation management services.
