Scholarly Communications Technologies

arXiv

This unit manages and operates the arXiv e-print archive. arXiv was established by Paul Ginsparg in 1991 to support the online exchange of preprints in high energy physics. Since then, it has has expanded to include mathematics, non-linear science, computer science, and quantitative biology. Unit staff are responsible for ingest of new materials, system maintenance, development programming, and customer relations aspects of the service.

ePublishing Technologies

E-Publishing Technologies provides the systems infrastructure and production services that support the Library's electronic publishing initiatives. Services include: the creation of customized, uniquely branded publication web sites; preparation and electronic delivery of journals, monographs, conference proceedings or other publications, whether born digital or converted from paper; implementation of revenue capture models to suit publishers' needs; web-based tools to assist in the editorial production of peer-reviewed scholarly literature. EPT also maintains and develops DPubS, an open source electronic publishing system.
