Documentation Committee Meeting

Announcements & Updates
Gail and Ken briefed the other committee members on their meeting with Ida Marinez, co-chair of the Reference & Outreach Committeee. The Documentation Committee will serve as a subcommittee of the Reference & Outreach Committee and will recruit new members through the Reference & Outreach Committee, similar to the process with IRPC in the past.

The Documentation Committee has discussed the possibility of migrating our web site to CommonSpot. We will wait to see how the Public Services Executive Committee decides to go.

The latest draft of the committee charge was reviewed. Two questions that Gail will pass along to Reference & Outreach Committee:

• Should the committee liaisons (Amy - technical support, and Carmen - access services) have a membership period set as indefinite?
• Which paper Help documents is the Documentation Committee responsible for?

Fall Meetings
Fall meetings will take place on the first Friday of the month, from 1:30-2:30. Venues will be arranged by the following committee members:

• Write up a draft of documentation for Google Scholar
• Modify MyLibrary help pages
• Investigate documentation for using Unicode to display foreign language fonts
• Check for e-book documentation to be added to Technical Support FAQs

Gail will check with Jesse for documentation on the new library to office document delivery service.

The Documentation Committe will review the print material for RefWorks and send feedback to Gaby, who serves as a member of the Citation Management Working Group.
