Documentation Committee Meeting Minutes

Announcements:
- Jaime Martindale has officially left the committee and the university for a new job in Wisconsin.
- Lynn Thitchener will replace Jaime as the committee's liaison to the Gateway Committee II.
- Ida Martinez is now Co-chair of the Documentation Committee.
Reports:
- Lynn reports on a number of questions at the reference desk about e-books and how to find them/access them. She is working on a help page for "Finding E-books" that will be linked under "Finding Specific Types of Materials" on the committee's help pages and also from the Gateway under the drop-down menu "How do I find..."
- Lynn has completed the updates for the Cookies page. Thad will upload the page to the server.
- Ida continues to work on updating the Telnet help page for the Library Catalog.
- Ida meets with Fiona Patrick and Amy Blumenthal on a regular basis to get technical-related information for updating the Resolving Errors and Common Technical Questions help page. Ida will update this page on an on-going basis as Amy and Fiona develop content for it.
- There have been some delays in getting Ida access to the server so that she can assume Jaime's responsibilities (maintaining the committee's web page, editing and uploading help pages, indexing pages, etc.). Maureen Morris will contact the appropriate people to try and expedite this.
New Business:
Committee will discuss the Catalog Help Pages -- their organization, their design, their content, etc. -- at the next meeting. All members should look over these pages and bring their thoughts and ideas to the next meeting.
