The Documentation Committee met in Mann 361 on June 3, 2003.

Updates:
- database guides (Thad)

Thad wondered if the Doc. Comm. is responsible for creating new database guides.  Nan Hyland, IRPC, suggested that those who created original guides be contacted to update them .

- music page (Thad)
We discussed the heading title:  "videos and non-musical recording", and agreed that "spoken word" should replace "non-musical recordings".

- ENCompass (Ida)
Sarah Chandler is making pages for Encompass and asked Ida to check and edit them.
 
- Creating and Editing Gateway Help Pages document (Ida)
The e-Reference Search Tips page doesn't work.  It is a link from the Gateway, so Maureen will have to fix it.
Jaime noted that if links go to an external site, a new window show open up.  Jaime will send Sarah C. (Encompass Comm.) email asking for criteria about what links should result in opening a new window.

Ida is still working on these pages so tell her if corrections or rewording are needed.

- Dissertation page (Lynn)
Lynn has made an extensive and complex help page for finding Cornell theses.  One problem is that Voyager does not support a call number search starting, i.e., "Thesis QA..." She has included information and a link to the new service that enables Cornell users to get pdf version of Cornell dissertations starting with 1996.  The catalog entry is "Current research at Cornell".

- CUWeb Login page (Jaime)
Jaime has added further information to the CUL web login page. Send corrections to Thad or Jaime.  Ida is also working on these pages.

- Audio/Video Recording page link (Jaime)
Jaime will take care of this.

Next meeting is August 6, 2003, 11 am at Mann.

- EDWG bookmarks (Thad)
Mary is to get the computer file of the new bookmark (the one with the books spines), and take it to Olin Copy service.

- Research Strategy and Process pages (Thad)
The group agreed to go through the HELP categories, checking paths and all pages that link from these.
Jaime will do Research Strategies
Lynn will do Technical Support
Kizer will do Research Services no. 1-4
Thad will do Research Services no. 5.
