Announcements
Library-to-library office delivery:
We looked at the current
documentation on the Gateway and decided that it is not necessary to add further documentation to the Help pages at this point.
Documentation Committee Web Site:
Gail demonstrated changes she has made to the Documentation Committee
web site, including a revised page for Procedures and Order Handouts. It is now possible to download Help print documents from the order form instead of ordering from the copy center. Carmen suggested that we add Access Services documentation to the list of forms.
Updates
Help page redesign:
Ken demonstrated the new look of the Help pages to members of the Gateway Committee
in October and they approved the new design. Ken reviewed the new design with
the Documentation Committee. Gail suggested that we add the title "Gateway Help"
to each of the Help pages. For example, the Help page for Holds & Recalls will
have the title "Gateway Help: Holds & Recalls." We also decided to change the
title of one of the Help sections, from "Research Services" to "Library Services."
Ken will begin to develop templates and start moving content from the old pages
to the new ones.
Google Scholar:
Gail has created Help documentation for Google Scholar. It can be found in the
Web & Search Engines section.
Unicode:
Amy has created Help documentation for Unicode. Her first draft was distributed among the present members and the committee will review the document during the December meeting.
