Documentation Committee Minutes

The committee welcomed our newest member, Mihoko Hosoi, from the Hotel Library. Mihoko will be replacing Lori Micho (who will be leaving Cornell next week). Lee LaFleur will be replacing Lori as the new co-chair of the committee.

We talked about some things that may affect the work of the Documentation Committee in the next year, including decisions made by the Networked Resources Redefinition Implementation Group and the implementation of Encompass.

We approved the newly redesigned committee web page that Angela has been working on. The web page now provides access to current and archived minutes and well as committee members’ contact information.

Lee updated us on what was happening in the OPAC working group. We’ve been asked to update the "About the CU Library Catalog" page. We decided we would completely remove the "new look" section, move the "hours" section to the forefront of the document and update the remaining sections if needed. Angela will make the necessary changes to this document.

Angela pointed out that everyone should be updating the date in the source code of his or her revised pages. The committee decided that it would be best to have two dates in the source code: the original creation date and the date the document was last updated.

Angela or Lee will need to follow up with Bob Kibbee about the status of the Endnote help page. Bob told Lori earlier in May that he was working on them.

We assigned editors to look at the recently updated and newly created pages. Those people who updated or created pages should send copies of their work to their editors. Editors should then send final revisions to Angela and Lee to be moved to the production server.
