1. New Member Welcome
We welcomed Carmen Blankinship to the Documentation Committee. Carmen will be representing and serving as a liaison to the Access Services Committee.

2. Ask a Librarian page
In light of the Gateway home page redesign, we decided to follow the look and content of the Gateway footer on secondary pages (Ask a Librarian, Report a Problem Connecting, Send us Feedback, CU Home Page; CUInfo), as well as the link to Ask a Librarian only, which will take away "e-mail reference" from the Help content page. In this way, the link to Ask a Librarian will go to a page explaining the different options that will be prepared by the Gateway Committee. As we are aware that the Gateway design may change, Kornelia will make sure that the Help changes reflect the final design of the GW.

3. Reserves page
Carmen brought up the need to have a page that explains both print and electronic reserves. She will work with the Gateway Committee to have such a page produced and included under Services on the Gateway. After the page has been created, the Doc Committee will create a short Help page with two options: print reserves and e-reserves; with the first linking to the respective GW page, and the second to our current e-reserves page.

4. Xenu Broken Link report
After we updated the broken links, Lee ran the report again and asked Jaime to fix the remaining broken links. While fixing the pages, Jaime discovered that the Canned Searches page returns a broken link under Try it, since the page used in the spring has been removed from e-reserves. We discussed a long-term solution to this problem and decided that Jaime will make the instruction for creating Canned Searches more generic and instead of Try it, will include a Click Here for an Example link to a static page.
Carmen invited Jaime to present the Canned Searches page to the Access Services Committee at one of their upcoming meetings.
The other problem links are in the Computer set-up sections. Thad will go through the configuration pages and make a recommendation on what should be kept (e.g. do we need instructions on how to configure Netscape 1)

5. Cookies page
We discussed whether we need more detailed instructions for enabling cookies in different versions of Netscape and IE. Kornelia will investigate and report back to the group.

7. Known problems with browser versions.
Holly sent us a list with browser version problems and we discussed whether we would want this list as a separate page (useful for staff) or included on the existing pages on different browsers (useful for patrons). We decided that Lee will add the information on the existing pages and Kornelia will contact ITS to determine whether:

a/ the browser link on the Problem Connecting form can be turned into a required field
b/the list of known problems could be included in the form as a "Please Note:" at the top
c/this information could come through in the e-mail messages that the reference desk are receiving.

8. Creating and editing Gateway help pages
Depending on what the process of updating GW pages will be in the new redesigned version, we will set up our process and document it.

9. Other business
Lee will contact IRPC re: the members' terms of service
Kornelia will set up a regular meeting time for the Fall.
