Jean Poland has been elected to the Nylink Council and will serve as delegate to OCLC Members Council through August 2009.  Ed Weissman has just completed two terms in that position.

Congratulations to Jill Powell for her “Last Word” essay, “Opening More Books: Why Google Book Search Might Be a Good Thing,” in the April 2006 issue of ASEE Prism, the membership magazine of the American Society for Engineering Education.  Jill’s article is very timely—she mentions the possibility of Google being subpoenaed for reader information.  It was in fact search terms that were requested from Google, but you were very close, Jill.

Kornelia Tancheva has been nominated for the 2006 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Librarianship.  She is being recognized for her exceptional contributions to the library, the profession, and Cornell University.
