Photos and bios of rest of IRIS staff
The question was raised as to what we'll do if someone really doesn't want any part of themselves, photo or bio, on the Web.
Craig offered to take photos of staff. We will have people submit their own 2 or 3 line bios.

We discussed which sites we should link to the IRIS Transition Site (to be located at http://www.library.cornell.edu/iris/).

Some ideas were:

The units category of the staff web, http://www.library.cornell.edu/staffweb/,

divisions and units page at http://campusgw.library.cornell.edu/cgi-bin/dj.cgi?section=library &URL=library/libweb.html,

and under Library Information / Administration and Organization
http://campusgw.library.cornell.edu/cgi-bin/dj.cgi?section=about &URL=about/admin_description.html
there would be a link for Anne's position. That link would go to the appropriate section of the LMT page http://campusgw.library.cornell.edu/cgi-bin/dj.cgi?section=about &URL=about/admin.html and there, under Anne's listing, would be a link to the IRIS Web site.

We settled on some standards and protocols for the site. These included: initial and date pages (Maureen has a code that will automate this), use relative links, use templates, file naming (abc+date.extension), html (not htm), dashes not underscores, text links rather than images or buttons, and we'll use the font Verdana.

Michael will research various meanings of iris for design and logo inspiration (update: Michael has done a really thorough job in just three days and has come up with some meanings and imagery that reveal the acronym IRIS to be uncannily perfect).
Carrie will create a site map based on our discussion of what will be included in the initial site and she will serve as copy editor.
Lance and Maureen will work on layout, templates, and site structure (this with Carrie).
Craig and Carla will work on logos, general design, and layout with input from everybody. Craig and Carla will meet Sunday to go over what they've done.
Rick, with Michael's help, will work on the feedback form.
Craig will take staff photos and Mikki will collect staff bios where appropriate and work and contact information for everyone else.

Initial drafts are due Monday the 25th with earlier input where necessary.
We now have a listserv for this team.
