IMT
Meeting Notes
January 27, 2000
1. Announcements
Lynne announced that there will be a special session next week for
Tom Hickerson to update us on the Safire meeting and enhancements to
Voyager. Deb Gagnon will contact IMT members to determine a time.
Trainers will be added to the IMT list. Lynne will send names and e-mail
addresses to John
2. Data Migration report
George Kozak reported on the progress of the data migration, based
on his discussions with Jana Fast. As of Thursday morning, the Bib load
was complete, and they were about halfway through the AUT load. Endeavor
was encountering some problems with MARC Holdings, but the
assumption is that a particular record or records is to blame since this
wasn't encountered in a smaller test.
The BIB load will populate MARC Holdings, locations will be generated,
item records built, as well as item types for circulation, the patron
load and the vendor load.
Diane asked about how locations will initially display in the OPAC since,
although Endeavor has our codes, we haven't set up names. George will
check with Jana. We can't do a location test without the OPAC being set
up properly. We hope to get enough preliminary information from the BIB
file testers to sign off by the end of next week.
Susan Currie asked about relating item conditions to item status. George
will check with Mei or Jana.
We had a lengthy discussion of the effect of all of our changes to Voyager
on the upcoming functional training for the trainers. George explained
how the different servers were configured:

We may need to create a space for Endeavor to use an unmodified version
of Voyager for the functional training. George will be looking into how
to provide this. Endeavor will want to use Traindb; the trainers will
eventually use Cornelldb. Will we be using Library11 to test Voyager 2000?
3. Academic Assembly
Lynn Brown reported that we will be holding a "poster session"
introduction to Voyager for the Academic Assembly meeting on March 2,
to be held in Clark Hall. There are two Internet connections on the 7th
floor, but we can expand that with the use of minihubs or wireless devices.
Members of the different groups will demonstrate various aspects of the
system. Lynne and John will work with Oliver to determine the appropriate
equipment, probably six machines. There is a projector in the auditorium,
so the OPAC group will work there. There will be a trial run on February
28 at 9:00. We will continue to discuss format and content.
