Development Project Working Group Meeting Notes - October 15, 1999 Present: Susan Currie, Surinder Ghangas, Diane Hillmann, Linda Miller, Pat Schafer Diane Hillmann met with the group to raise issues related to location changes that the group should consider as part of the project. We discussed potential problems when overlaying records. The inflexibility of Voyager for changing in bulk the location in the MFHD poses a serious problem for Annex transfers as well as for other library operations. In regard to data migration and the Annex, Linda agreed to provide Diane with samples of records that could potentially pose problems. For example, Linda offered to provide samples of Asia serials records involving a second copy statement splitting the title between Asia and the Annex. Diane will look at the records during the first test migration. The next meeting is scheduled for October 29, 1999. Pat will see if Lynne Personius can attend to discuss the planning process for working with and connecting the two vendors. P. Schafer Chair |
