Voyager/GFA Development Project Working Group Present: Susan Currie, Surinder Ghangas, Linda Miller, Pat Schafer All agreed that following our December 3 meeting with Diane Hillmann regarding the location change issue, the next step in our project should be a conference call to Steve Gilbert at GFA. We decided it would be best to brief him prior to initiating any further contact with Verne Copi and Cindy Miller at Endeavor. We want to make sure that Steve is fully aware of how we want the interface to work for both circulation functions and location changes. Surinder recommended that we require a three way communication process. Surinder as Cornell's technical representative and Pat as chair of the group should be copied on all e-mail correspondence during the two vendors' development work. Surinder also suggested that telephone conversations between the two vendors should be conference calls including her. Surinder agreed to set up the conference call to GFA for either Wednesday, December 15, at 4:00 p.m. or Thursday, December 16, at 3:00 p. m. providing Steve will be available at those times. The call has since been scheduled for Monday, December 20, at 2:00 p.m. in Pat's office. Participants will be Steve Gilbert and Ann Ward from GFA and Susan, Surinder, Linda, and Pat from Cornell. Surinder will check with Lynne Personius to see if she would like to be present. Pat indicated that she would like her there if contract issues come up. Surinder said that she would fax GFA the report we prepared for Marlene Harris at Endeavor. That way Steve and Ann will know the outline of what we have in mind. Pat gave Verne Copi a copy of this report at the special November 15 meeting. Pat said that she would talk to Lynne sometime the week of December 13 regarding the progress of the project, our strategy and possible opportunities at ALA Midwinter. The group then discussed the need for a new server for the Annex in light of the Voyager implementation. Pat said that she had alerted the Library Annex Steering Committee to this upcoming need several months ago. She said that the Annex Project budget will support this, but that she needed to give the Annex Steering Committee a more thorough briefing before we could proceed. Surinder said that she would provide the needed information. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be January 7, 2000, at 8:30 a.m. in Susan's office. However, we will have a brief discussion before and after the conference call. Pat Schafer |
