Cornell University Library Voyager Implementation Site
| Notes
of the Reporting Working Group, Feb. 25.
1. Staff training. We talked about the "training forecast" submitted for reporting training. Everyone was ok with it. We discussed the timing for the first class--perhaps late April, but certainly following the first Intro. to Voyager classes. 2. Training for us. We briefly discussed the merits of the Voyager custom reporting workshop proposal submitted by Alan Manifold of Purdue, vs. what Endeavor might offer us. Karen has asked for a more detailed description of what Endeavor provides. (Since then, an Endeavor session has been scheduled for May 15-17: please make a note of it. Details to be discussed at our March 17 meeting) 3. Fund Structure and Reporting. We spent most of the meeting in a lively discussion of the levels of risk and uncertainty associated with setting up the fund structure. Should those responsible set up a complex fund structure that includes every possible reporting category within the fund structure itself? Or, alternatively, should those responsible set up a simplified fund structure that depends on Voyager reporting to provide some of the data? Linda, John and Bill felt they must be certain that Voyager would satisfy fund reporting needs before they could choose. 4. We also discussed the priority of certain custom accounting reports wanted by Linda for day one of Voyager, and how they might be produced in time. 5. Lydia advised everyone experimenting with the MS Access reports to FTP the file VoyCUt1 Reports.mdb from the server, following the instructions she distributed at our Jan. 21 meeting (ask Karen or Lydia if you no longer have a copy). This will hook you up with the Cornell data. If you get an error message when attempting to open one of the tables, queries or reports, please make a note of the error and contact Lydia. |
