NOTES OF REPORTING WORKING GROUP MEETING, MARCH 31, 2000

Present: Pamela Rothbard, Christian Boissonnas, Lydia Pettis, Bill Kara, John Saylor, Karen Calhoun (chair), Susan Currie, Ed Weissman, Michelle Paolillo, Oliver Habicht

1. Training Sign-Ups. Pamela Rothbard visited the meeting. The number of registrants to date for the three reporting classes are as follows: Reporter 1 (the one-hour overview): 88 people; Reporter 2 (the Reporter client): 93 people; Reporter 3 (prepackaged MS Access reports): 81 people. Pamela agreed to send Karen a list of the registrants. As for timing, we asked Pamela to try to schedule the overview class in early May and the second two classes beginning the third week of May. The second two classes can run simultaneously, provided there is more than one of each.

2. Progress on selector (fund accounting) reports: Lydia has not received the screen captures and record examples from Scott. New examples will need to be created in CUTRainDB so that Lydia can begin the necessary analysis and testing to create selector reports. Bill agreed to speak with Scott about getting the necessary information to Lydia.

3. Day one custom accounting reports. Lydia reported these are coming along and she, Linda W. and Ann are on track for having them ready on day one. Bill asked about vouchers, and Lydia said that Adam Smith has been working on vouchers for the statutory libraries.

4. More on fund structure. John Saylor had brought a wireless laptop and showed us the results of his recent work with staff at the Law Library to create Law's fund structure. John has been interviewing and collaborating with each unit to build the Voyager fund structure. (Update 4/12/00: John has now completed the proposed fund structure for 6 selectors with their approval. More to come soon. He has suggested that Christian Boissonnas review the structure for implications for statistics gathering and reporting.)

5. Reporting support, Desktop Services and network administrators. Oliver Habicht visited the meeting. We discussed strategies for familiarizing the netadmins with what they need to do to install and configure the Reporter Client, ODBC drivers, new printers (some locations), and MS Access on CUL staff machines. Oliver reported that Desktop Services plans to provide netadmin training. To support this effort, Michelle agreed share her knowledge of the reporter client (essentially the content of the Reporter 2 class) with Amy Blumenthal. Unit netadmins will be the first line of support for Voyager reporting.

6. Global Circ Print Queue. Susan Currie noted that no unit has been assigned responsibility for this queue. She said she will refer the issue to IMT for discussion.
