Mann Library primarily supports instruction, research, and
extension activities in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences,
the College of Human Ecology, and the Division of Nutritional Sciences.
Manns rich and varied collection includes books, journals, and databases
in the fields of agriculture, plant and animal sciences, nutrition, food
science, biology and biotechnology, natural resources and environmental
sciences, textiles, and selected social sciences (applied economics, communication,
design, education, family studies, housing, human development, human ecology,
human services, and rural sociology). The library has more than 100 public
microcomputers that provide access to databases, software, and the Internet.
Some of the microcomputers are housed in an instructional facility.
An addition/renovation project is now under way that
will give Mann Library climate control, an information technology infrastructure,
and additional space for books and users. 2007 is the estimated completion
date for the renovation. During the renovation phase of the project, substantial
portions of the Mann collection will be in storage but can be paged from
the Mann circulation desk. |
