Hosting tips.

As your agenda develops, send a copy to Holly <hlm7> or Oliver <oh10> for posting at the LTEF's schedule on the web.

Confirm with Holly <hlm7> that the meeting space is reserved (especially important if the date changes!), and that refreshments are taken care of. :-)

Send out a notice to <cu-lib> and the LTEF's email list <ltef//AT\\new-david.mannlib.cornell.edu> a week before the event with topic, agenda-to-date, and meeting particulars (where, when, food available(!), etc.) and link to the LTEF web site.

Send out a reminder to <cu-lib> and the LTEF's email list <ltef//AT\\new-david.mannlib.cornell.edu> just before [the day before or morning of], with an updated version of the original notice.

The LTEF Planning Committee met yesterday . [...]At the meeting, we [...] discussed various ways in which we could improve the LTEF. We came up with four ideas:

  1. Use a microphone so that speakers are heard by all.
  2. Have a resource table (when appropriate) that contains topic-related books, handouts, etc.
  3. Decrease the agenda items so that there is more time for networking and discussion.
  4. Use the pre-break time (1:30pm-2:15pm) for presentations and the post-break time for discussion. This way folks who need to leave by before 3:00pm are able to hear the entire presentation. (There will be topics for which this won't be appropriate, but this will be stated in the agenda.)
