Welcome guest Tracy Mitrano, Director of Information Technology Policy, and learn and ask questions about how the new and emerging University IT policies will impact IT staff and others in the Library. Policies include "Security of Information Technology Resources", "Reporting Electronic Security Incidents", "Network Registry", and "Data Stewardship and Custodianship".

Also, Tracy's group is engaged in an on-going effort to update volume 5 of the "University Policy Office (UPO) Library" and she would like to share information about that initiative and get Library staff's feedback. Tracy writes, "I have been something of a tireless critic of the UPO process for its PAG [Policy Advisory Group] and EPRG [Executive Policy Review Group] narrow constituency base, and have mentioned libraries as particularly underrepresented in the process. In the IT arena, as you know, I think of libraries as an especially important stakeholder, and in my ways partner, so even if UPO fails to represent I certainly would like us all to make an effort to work together." So, please come and contribute towards this important process!

Note that four new key IT policies had been scheduled to become "real" March 1st! For details, see the the "CU IT Framework" document.
