Library Learning Opportunities Advisory Committee

What does this committee do?

The Learning Advisory Committee (LAC) participates in developing library training strategies. Activities include working together to plan the semester training calendar, planning course evaluations, reviewing new training tools and making suggestions for improvement to the training website. The committee meets once a month (when there are topics for discussion) on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 9 - 10:30 a.m. .

The LAC goal is to involve approximately 15-20 members from different library units and departments across campus. The committee seeks a mix of Academic and Non-Academic staff to represent from all of the major functions of the library. Anyone with an interest in representing their unit or department may join the committee by simply e-mailing Linda Bryan, the chair of the committee and the library's Staff Development Specialist, at lgb4@cornell.edu.

How can I become a member?

Membership in this committee is different from other library committees as there is no voting procedure and anyone who has an interest in representing their unit/department in training discussions may join the group. The  group is a mix of Academic and Non-Academic staff as well as a mix of different library functions (i.e., circulation, cataloging, reference, etc.).

If you are considering joining and would like more information or would like to attend a meeting to see if it interests you, e-mail Linda Bryan, the committee chair and the library's Staff Development Specialist, at lgb4@cornell.edu.

We welcome your interest!
