Annex Expansion Project: Construction Schedule & Photo Album

The new, expanded Library Annex is open for business. The construction process formally ended in mid-May 1998 when all the shelves in the warehouse were free of dust and construction debris. With the full mechanical system working, the warehouse space is cool and dry, just the way books and archival material like it.

	Site preparation - 2nd & 3rd week of May '97
	Pouring of the footing and the concrete slab - 1st half of June '97
	Delivery, installation, and bracing of the concrete wall panels for the warehouse (book stack area) - Late July through end of August '97
	Construction of the new loading dock - Late August '97
	Installation of the warehouse roof (steel trusses, insulation, etc.) - Early September '97
	Construction of the new staff work area (steel and concrete block) - Early September '97
	Installation of the alleyway roof between the old and new warehouses - September '97
	Installation of steel for the mechanical room - Mid-September '97
	Construction of the superflat floor - Mid-September '97
	Installation of the warehouse ceiling - Early October '97
	Installation of the heating and cooling system - Early October '97
	Early landscaping work - Early October '97
	Shelving installation - October '97 through February '98
	Interior painting - November through December '97
	Fire protection - November '97 through January '98
	Finish plumbing and electrical work - January '98
	Start up and testing of HVAC/electrical/plumbing/fire protection systems - February '98
	Carpet and tile installation - February '98
	Punch lists and closeouts - January through end of March '98
