Browsers: Compatibility with the Library Gateway and Find Articles/Find Databases

The Library Gateway
While you can use any browser to view the Library Gateway, it is best viewed with Netscape 4 and up or Internet Explorer 5 and up.

Find Articles and Find Databases
To connect to the electronic sources in Find Articles and Find Databases:

Netscape 6.2 and up or Internet Explorer 5.0 and up are recommended for Windows
Netscape 6.2 and up, Mozilla 1.4, or Safari 1.0 are recommended for Mac (Internet Explorer not recommended for Mac).

Browsers: Identifying

Your browser is most likely some version of Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer. There is an old text-based Web browser (lynx) as well as many other graphical browsers available from the Internet, but the library has tested and supports only Netscape and MSIE.

One way to identify your browser is to go here and click on the Test button next to Browsers.   Or, with your browser open to any page go to the top menu bar and click on Help then choose About (Netscape or Internet Explorer).
