What is JavaScript?

JavaScript is a commonly-used programming language that brings animation and interaction to the World Wide Web.

Does JavaScript need to be enabled in order to use library resources and tools?

For many library resources and tools (such as Find it!) you must have JavaScript enabled.

Is JavaScript enabled?

To see if your browser supports JavaScript, go here and click on the Test button next to JavaScript. If JavaScript is not enabled, many Web pages will not display correctly.

To ensure that JavaScript is enabled:

• In Internet Explorer, look under Tools > Internet Options > Security. Make sure the Internet icon is selected. Click on the Custom Level button. Under Scripting, enable Active Scripting.
• In Firefox, look under Tools > Options > Content, and select Enable JavaScript.
