Reading 'The Grapes of Wrath'
For nine years now Cornell has been sending a book to the students in the new freshman class and asking them to read it, write about it, and participate in our large and small group discussions about it when they arrive on campus in August. And together the newest Cornellians have read the book along with Cornell faculty, alumni, and staff, as well as with members of the Ithaca community. This year we are reading "The Grapes of Wrath" together. And whether you are reading this book for the first time, the second time, or maybe even a tenth time, this time you are reading it with us.
The Library is supporting this effort on a a blog, which will have frequent posts about the book, the author, the movie, and the Dust Bowl. Participants can also follow along on Twitter and the main New Student Reading Project Web site.
