Law Librarian Named Co-Chair of New Interest Group

Amy Emerson, research attorney and lecturer in law at the Law Library, was recently named co-chair of a new interest group within the prestigious American Society of International Law (ASIL).  The International Legal Research Interest Group (ILRIG) was developed specifically for researchers of foreign, comparative, and international law and will provide a forum for members to engage in dialogue pertaining to international legal research practices, participate in professional development activities, and assemble as a group during ASIL Annual Meeting.  ILRIG has been selected to host a substantive program at next year’s annual meeting, and will additionally publish a newsletter and host a website here: http://www.asil.org/interest-groups-view.cfm?groupid=62
ILRIG membership is open to all ASIL members and should be of particular interest to:

  • Law librarians
  • Legal scholars
  • Attorneys with FCIL practice issues
  • Academic librarians
  • Scholars working in political science, international relations, economics, history
  • Research professionals from government agencies, policy institutes, inter-governmental organizations, and non-governmental organizations
