USDA Economics, Statistics and Market Information System
A service that disseminates and preserves regular reports and data-sets from the World Agricultural Outlook Board (WAOB), the Economic Research Service (ERS), the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), the Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) and the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS). In the early 1990s, Mann librarians established a collaborative partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture to develop an online infrastructure to receive, process and make available to the general public a variety of regularly published government reports and data sets related to U.S. agricultural output. The USDA System has been an ongoing service since then. Mann provides research and technical support for the system by phone, e-mail and in-person, and whenever appropriate, questions are referred directly to the USDA. Each year, over fifty million reports are downloaded or received via email by users from across the world.
