Electronic Reserve Guidelines |
|
Faculty may submit course syllabi, sample exams, class lecture notes, problem sets, and photocopied sections of journals and books for both graduate and undergraduate courses. Materials are scanned into the system and made available for student viewing and/or printing. Articles from electronic databases may also be placed on course reserve. See below for specific instructions. COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS: No more than 10% of any book may be placed on electronic reserve. If more than 10% is needed, the book itself may be requested for reserve. For more information about copyright, please visit the Cornell Copyright Information Center. If you have photocopied material that you would like us to scan for electronic reserve, please bring it to the Uris Circulation Desk. Please note that photocopies must be clear and readable with no black margins, on 8 1/2" x 11" paper, single-sided, and free of staples. You will need to fill out a paper E-Reserve form when you drop off the material. If you would like to fill out the form ahead of time, you can access it here. A completed form must accompany any photocopies submitted.
Documents which are already in PDF format may be submitted as an e-mail attachment. Your e-mail must include the same information asked for on the E-Reserve Form: To place articles from full-text electronic databases (e.g. JSTOR) on electronic reserve, you may use a paper form (available here or at the Olin and Uris circulation desks) or the online E-Reserve Form. In either case, please provide the stable URL for the article.
If there are articles in print journals owned by Olin, Kroch, or Uris Libraries that you would like to place on electronic reserve, you may use a paper form (available here or at the Olin and Uris circulation desks) or the online E-Reserve Form to request them. Library staff will page the journals and scan the material for you.
