Electronic Text Center, Olin Library, Cornell University

Hours: The ETC is open the same hours as the Olin Library building.
Location: 104 Olin Library, behind the Olin information/reference desks. Please ask for help at the reference desk. Individual consultations are available on the use of ETC resources.

Scanning and OCR are no longer available as an ETC service. Facilities for digitizing and editing are available in the Tower Room computer lab on the Gallery level in Uris Library, in the Map Collection on the Lower Level of Olin Library, and at the Creation Stations.

PURPOSE OF THE ELECTRONIC TEXT CENTER


  • Provide access to scholarly indexes, bibliographies, reference materials, and electronic text and multimedia documents from a set of dedicated workstations in the library and from the Center's Web site

  • Work with library selectors, Cornell faculty and students, and other text centers to identify, acquire, and organize electronic indexes, texts, and multimedia programs

  • Assist users through instruction, consultation, and demonstration of electronic resources
