This CD set contains images of actual Indian Office (later the Bureau of Indian Affairs) census schedules as extracted from National Archives microfilm. These records provide a wealth of genealogical data on thousands of Native American families. The CD set covers the NY Agency records of the Iroquois Tribal Confederation consisting of the Cayuga, Oneida, Onondaga, St. Regis (aka Mohawk), Seneca, and Tuscarora tribes living on the Allegheny, Cattaraugas, Oneida, Onondaga, St. Regis, Tonawanda, and Tuscarora reservations and a map of the largest tribe living on each reservation. They also contain an Iroquois Chronology (1534-1885) and an explanation of what each of the Iroquois Tribal names probably mean.

American Historical Images On File - The Native American Experience

Collection of historical photographs provided with the permission of Facts on File, Inc. A comprehensive collection of images of Native American people. Arranged chronologically from the prehistoric period and the Paleo-Indians to 1990. Includes information and images which describe the lifeways of various tribes and include historical entries for particular Indian groups. Narratives provide historical and cultural background describing the event, person, or subject presented.

American Native Press Archives - Digital Library

The Native Writers Digital Text Project brings the works of Native poets and writers of fiction and other prose to readers world wide. Featuring out-of-print literary efforts of American Indians, Alaska Natives, and First Nations people of Canada, the project seeks to broaden the definition of “Native Writing” not only by focusing on writers who are not ordinarily anthologized, but also by publishing works which originally appeared in “ephemeral” sources, the periodical press, especially in those publications edited and produced by Natives.
