o A tool for organizing and managing your site(s)

Part 1. Creating Web Pages

In this section we will use the WYSIWYG features of Dreamweaver to create pages that contain the following elements:

  • Text
  • Page Properties
  • Images
  • Image maps
  • Links - Internal and external
  • Tables

Part 2. Managing Your Website

In this section we will use the site management features of Dreamweaver to set up our site structure, define a connection to a Web server, and set up the ability to transfer the web page files to the server.

One of the most powerful features in Dreamweaver is the ability to view your local files and your server files side-by-side, and transfer files between both locations right in the same program.

I. Check with your Internet Service Provider

  • Roadrunner - If you use Roadrunner as you Internet Service Provider then you have free webspace available. Similarly if you use another ISP (AOL, Verizon) you may have space available.

  • TypePad: Service for hosting and publishing weblogs and photo albums.
  • WordPress: Free blogging software
  • PBwiki: free wiki site
