OLIN, URIS AND KROCH LIBRARIES
Please join the staff of Olin, Uris and Kroch Libraries as we take you on various tours , guide you through our collections, and offer a variety of workshops to introduce you to our resources!
Tours
of Uris, Olin, and Kroch Libraries
These libraries provide rich resources in the Social Sciences and Humanities to the entire Cornell community.
Tours last about 40 minutes.
August 18-20 & 22-24 - Tours begin at 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm
August 25 & 26 - Tours begin at 3:00 pm
(Tours start in the upper lobby of Uris Library)
Tours of the Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections in Kroch Library
These tours are designed to give new students and faculty an overview of Cornell's original research materials.
Tours start on level 1 of the Kroch Library in the rotunda
about 40 minutes after
the Uris, Olin, and Kroch tours.
Tours last about 20 minutes. See above for times. (not including
August 20).
Map & Geospatial Information Collection Tours
This extensive research collection of cartographic materials is a useful resource for students in many disciplines. The maps of Southeast Asia and the variety of historic and current urban maps are particularly noteworthy.
Tours last about 30 minutes.

Library Research Orientation Sessions
This seminar for new undergraduate and graduate students and faculty will provide a general introduction to using the Cornell University Library. In a hands-on setting, participants will learn about the wide variety of resources available online and will have time to experiment with some of them. The session will also include a discussion of print materials and finding resources that are not online.

Cornell Library Collaborative Learning Computing Center (CL 3) Orientation
Visit the Uris Library (CL3) Lab and see the resources available for making multimedia presentations. Demonstrations will be provided of digital video cameras, digital still cameras, microphones and scanners.
August 24 - 2:00 pm - 2:30 pm, in the (CL 3) Lab - Uris Library, Gallery Level
Library Technology Fair
An "open house" showcasing the technological services and resources of the Cornell University Library. Representatives from libraries around campus will be available to demonstrate electronic information services in all disciplines. Drop by any time during the afternoon and see what the Library has to offer!

Olin Library
The American Academic Library Session
This session is designed for new international students and faculty who have little or no experience using academic libraries in the United States. Using Cornell as an example, we will examine how academic libraries work, and explain the basic library skills and practices you will need to find materials and take advantage of the library's services.
