PERIODICAL INDEXES

We have recently acquired a wealth of periodical indexes covering a broad range of topics. These resources can occur in several different electronic formats. Some indexes can only be accessed one way, others may have several modes of access. If you can't find an appropriate index for your field of study please ask at the reference desk in any library for help.

All periodical indexes can be reached through the Bear Access menu:

Bear Access-->Library Resources-->Indexes and Abstracts-->Periodical Indexes Linked to the Catalog

This interface features hooks to Cornell's periodical holdings and has the advantage of using the same search strategy as the online catalog.

Bear Access-->Cornell Library Web-->choose the Networked Indexes and Abstracts link in the first paragraph.

The interface for most of these databases on this list is WWWeb-based and easy to use, but no hook to holdings.

Bear Access-->Mann Gateway. The Gateway doesn't list some humanities databases and includes many specialized full-text and statistical databases in agriculture and life sciences. There is a WWWeb-based version and a telnet version.
