Olin Library Faculty Studies
Olin Library is preparing for a major renovation of floors 3-8 with design in progress and pre-construction exploratory work on the exterior and interior of the building now starting. As a result, we regret that we are unable to provide an assigned study space at this time.
We recognize that more quiet independent study and research spaces are a priority for Olin users and are addressing this issue in our renovation plans. We are sure you will find the renovated spaces worth the wait.

Kroch Library Faculty Studies
All members of the University Faculty who are heavily using library material are eligible to apply for a faculty study. Other members of the University’s instruction and research faculty and visiting scholars with non-professorial appointments at Cornell may also apply for a faculty study.
Studies are assigned on the basis of availability and the following priorities:
- First priority: members of the University Faculty holding professorial appointments
- Second priority: members of the University Faculty having visiting professional appointments or ex officio membership
- Third priority: other members of the University’s teaching and research faculty
- Fourth priority: visiting scholars holding non-professorial appointments at Cornell.
Studies will be assigned only for specific research projects that require heavy use of Kroch library materials that cannot, or can only with difficulty, be used away from the Library. The existence of faculty studies does not relieve individual academic departments of their responsibility for providing faculty members with adequate office facilities. Library studies are provided for specific research projects only and may not be used as adjunct office or conference space. Full details available at Faculty Studies Policies and Procedures (.doc).
An application can be filled out and returned to okcarrels@cornell.edu. A waiting list is maintained for Faculty Studies. Due to high demand, we cannot grant requests for individual faculty study occupancy.
