Deb is also involved in CUL’s large-scale digitization initiatives, and provides reference and instruction in the humanities and social sciences.

Susette is the Assistant Director of Research & Learning Services, VIVO Humanities Curator, and Art Selector. She has a doctoral degree in the history of art, provides reference and instruction in the humanities and social sciences in Olin and Uris Libraries, and coordinates the Olin and Uris Libraries workshops program.

Virginia Cole, Reference and Digital Services Librarian and Selector
In addition to coordinating and implementing digital services for Olin and Uris reference, Virginia provides reference and instruction in a variety of humanities and social science disciplines. Her specialties include history, medieval studies, and streaming video for library instruction. Virginia is also the selector for medieval studies and British and Commonwealth history and the history of pre-modern Christianity.

Tony Cosgrave, Instruction Coordinator
Tony oversees Research & Learning Services’s instruction program and teaches many workshops, course-related classes, and a credit-bearing library class. His background in computer applications in libraries serves him well in his role as Network Administrator. He has been a reference librarian at Cornell since 1989. Active in the profession, Tony has given talks at ACRL national and regional conferences and LOEX. His selection responsibilities include Psychology and Higher Education.

Michael Engle, Reference and Instruction Librarian; Reference Selector
Michael works with students and faculty at the reference desk, on chat reference, and via e-mail. He teaches workshops and course-related research classes, selects for and manages the reference collections in Olin and Uris Libraries, and is the coordinator of the Electronic Text Center in Olin Library. Michael is the selector for North American newspapers.

Lance Heidig, Reference and Instruction Librarian
Lance is a Reference and Instruction Librarian in Research & Learning Services. His work there is concentrated on the integration of traditional and digital library services, with a focus on web-based instruction. He selects Children’s Literature, Science Fiction, and Recreation materials for Uris Library and Second Language Education materials for Olin Library. Sarah How, Reference and Collection Development Librarian
Sarah selects for European social sciences, provides reference and instruction services in the humanities and social sciences, and serves as liaison to the Cornell Institute for European Studies.  She has particular commitment to interdisciplinary digital resources and Western European studies.  Her degrees are from the University of Chicago and the University of Pennsylvania, and she is 2009/2010 Chair of the Western European Studies Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

Randi has a BA in Urban Design from New York University and an MLIS from University of Pittsburgh. In addition to reference duties, Randi is involved in federated searching tools for the catalog, usability studies, as well as working on Outreach and Special Events projects for the department.

Boris Michev, Maps and Media Coordinator
Boris strives to introduce GIS to audiences typically unfamiliar with the possibilities in their areas. He has an MA in History from Sofia University (Bulgaria), and an MLS from Syracuse University. His selection responsibilities include Cartography, Geography, and Urban Studies.

Fred Muratori, Reference and Instruction Librarian; Selector
A reference librarian in Olin since 1981, Fred is also the Bibliographer for Anglo-American and comparative literature and film, theater, and drama; Commonwealth literature and film; folklore; and Irish literature. His selection responsibilities reflect his academic background and interest in literature. He is a widely published poet and critic.

Will Sayers, Collections Specialist
Will selects material in French, Italian, Modern Greek, Netherlandic, and Scandinavian languages, literatures, and history.  He is an Adjunct Full Professor of Comparative Literature and is affiliated with Cornell’s Graduate Program in Medieval Studies.

In addition to coordinating reference services in Olin & Uris, Nancy organizes the reference staff training program. She is also the liaison with the Sociology Department and has collection development responsibilities in Olin Library for sociology and several related areas, including social history, social classes,social psychology, races, social reform, socialism, and criminology.
