Kornelia became the Director of the Department in 2006. Prior to that, she worked at Mann Library as Instruction Coordinator. She is also the selector for Urban Studies.

Tony Cosgrave, Instruction Coordinator
Tony oversees the Division's instruction program and teaches many workshops, course-related classes, and a credit-bearing library class. His background in computer applications in libraries serves him well in his role as Network Administrator and manager of our (CL)3 facility. He has been a reference librarian at Cornell since 1989. Active in the profession, Tony has given talks at ACRL national and regional conferences and LOEX.

Susette Newberry, Outreach Coordinator
Susette is Outreach Coordinator and Usability Librarian. She also provides reference and instruction in the humanities and social science.

Deb Schmidle, Social Sciences Coordinator
Deb heads the Social Science Team and is the curator for the VIVO+ Social Sciences portal. Deb is the selector for general social sciences and Economics and is liaison to the Institute for Social Sciences and the Economics Department. She is also very involved with CUL's Large-Scale Digitization Initiative, providing selection coordination with libraries across campus.

Nancy Skipper, Reference Services Coordinator
Nancy became a reference librarian in Olin in 1981. After initiating a graduate-level instruction program in Olin Library she assumed responsibility for managing the staff and services of the Information Desk. From 1984-1993 she was also responsible for collection development in anthropology and Native American Studies. Since 1998 Nancy has assisted in managing the Reference Department. Nancy is the sociology selector.

Kizer Walker, Collection Development Coordinator
In addition to supervising collection development staff, Kizer is the selector for German Studies, classics, Ancient Near East Studies, archaeology, and numismatics.

Gabriela Castro Gessner, Reference Specialist
Gaby has a Master's degree in anthropology with a specialization in the prehistoric Near East. She supervises the student reference desk assistants.

Virginia Cole, Reference and Digital Services Librarian and Selector
In addition to coordinating and implementing digital services for Olin and Uris reference, Virginia provides reference and instruction in a variety of humanities and social science disciplines. Her specialties include history, medieval studies, and streaming video for library instruction. Virginia is also the selector for Medieval Studies.

Michael Engle, Reference and Instruction Librarian; Selector
Michael enjoys working with students and faculty at the reference desk, on chat reference, and via e-mail. He teaches workshops and course-related research classes, selects for and manages the reference collections in Olin and Uris Libraries, and is the coordinator of the Electronic Text Center, 104 Olin Library.

Lance Heidig, Reference and Instruction Librarian; Uris Selector
Lance has worked as a reference and instruction librarian at Cornell since 1984. Lance also works with the Student Book Collection Contest and the New Student Reading Project. He teaches library research classes and workshops and selects titles for the Uris Library stacks.

Sarah How, Reference and Collection Development Librarian
Sarah is responsible for selection for Western European social sciences (economics, sociology, urban studies, women's studies, and government), peace studies, and British and Commonwealth history. She works with Cornell's Institute for European Studies.

Randi Kepecs, Reference Assistant
Randi has a BA in Urban Design from New York University and an MLIS from University of Pittsburgh. In addition to reference duties, Randi is involved in federated searching tools for the catalog, usability studies, as well as working on Outreach and Special Events projects for the department.

Bob Kibbee, Map and Geospatial Librarian
Bob's background is in the humanities, particularly in classical studies. In addition to his work with mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, Bob is called upon to help genealogists baffled by the library's complexity. Bob describes himself as, "a bagpiper with a strong interest in public services in an academic library." He is the selector for Geography, Maps, and Arctic regions.

Fred Muratori, Reference and Instruction Librarian; Selector
A reference librarian in Olin since 1981, Fred is also the Bibliographer for Anglo-American and Comparative Literature and Film, Theater and Drama, Commonwealth Literature and Film, Folklore, and Irish Literature. His selection responsibilities reflect his academic background and interest in literature. He is a widely published poet and critic.

Will Sayers, Collections Specialist
Will selects materials in French and Italian history, language, and literature; Greek history; Scandinavian Studies; Modern greek language and literature; and Dutch Studies. He is also an Adjunct Full Professor of Comparative Literature at Cornell.
