Library staff will scan a book chapter or journal article and send it to you as a PDF via e-mail for viewing on your own computer. If you are a patron with temporary or permanent disability this service is free (please note this on the request form).
Borrow Direct
http://www.library.cornell.edu/services/borrowdirect.html
If you find that Cornell does not own a particular book that you would like access to or Cornell’s copy is checked out to someone you can do a search for the item in Borrow Direct which is a shared database of 6 partnering institutions who share materials by shipping them rapidly to one another for a 1 month loan period.
Interlibrary Loan
http://216.54.119.126/illiad/logon.html
For materials that Cornell does not own at all and items are not available through Borrow Direct, you can request items through interlibrary loan.
In some of the libraries, privately assigned study desks are available for semester long use. Check with the individual library for more information.
