ASPC Steering Committee

1. Handouts: The ASPC Steering committee will revise the existing circulation policies with input from all members of ASPC. We will coordinate the revision of the handouts with the IRPC committee so that CUL handouts are consistent.
2. Reserve/Copyright: We continued to make revisions to the copyright section of the CUL Reserve Policy and Guidelines. The revised section will be sent to reserve supervisors prior to the meeting with Patricia McClary, Associate University Counsel for copyright. That meeting is scheduled for May 26 at 9:00 a.m. in Olin 703.
3. Billing: The ASPC ad hoc group which met to write a billing manual last year had several recommendations to billing which we began to discuss. These included blocks on patron records for material not returned, when to send bills to collections and other collection agency related procedures. We decided that outlining the history of how some of these decisions were set would be a useful thing to post to circadmin-l since we have numerous new staff who were not here during the original implementation. Some of the decisions were based on factors outside CUL's control (when bills go to the Bursar) and some were based on what would be the best balance for units that have varying amounts of volume.
