Finding Cornell University Library (CUL) staff's contact information

	The most accurate contact information is in the University Directory, so most staff searches should be conducted there. You can access the University Directory via the web, in Eudora, or using other Bear Access tools. (It contains accurate information because Cornell staff can maintain their own information there using WhoIAm.) Cornell's paper-based "Faculty, Staff, and Students Phone Directory," which is based on the web-accessible University Directory, is printed once a year.
	Return to the CUL-specific staff directory only when the University Directory yields too many results, despite employing that directory's tips. The CUL-specific staff directory is a shadow-directory independently maintained by CUL's Human Resources department. (Please send corrections to libhr@cornell.edu.)

	You can search or browse the Cornell Departmental Directory.

Historical note about both types of information.

One used to be able to download a contemporary pdf version of the staff directory and the departmental information. This was particularly useful for off-line use (say, on a travel laptop), or for a printed copy. However, it has not been updated since July 2001 (as of 4/14/04) so is now of marginal utility. Indeed, when it had been updated, it was only done so semi-annually. It was very labor-intensive to compile the information and make it look right. The information included both the unit and departmental information (and gathering it library-wide was a unique "challenge"!) and CUL HR's staff contact data.
