Charge

Reporting to the Library Management Team the CUL Gateway Committee II is responsible for the design, functionality, information content and technical support of the Library Gateway, CUL's Web presence. The Committee will insure that information available through the Gateway is up-to-date, decide how best to incorporate new information, evaluate and act on enhancement requests, respond to issues and concerns raised by staff and users, track usage, conduct usability testing, and continue to develop the Gateway according to best practices.

History

In her June, 2002 charge to the Gateway Redesign Implementation Team, Sarah Thomas asked the Team to "recommend whether it should continue in its advisory capacity or merge with the Library Gateway Committee." This charge for a reconfigured CUL Gateway Committee (GCII) represents the joint recommendation of the Gateway Redesign Implementation Team and the original Library Gateway Committee as approved by the Library Management Team. GCII reconstitutes the original Gateway Committee, incorporating responsibilities and staff from the Gateway Redesign Implementation Team. With the establishment of GCII, the original Library Gateway Committee and the Gateway Redesign Implementation Team are formally disbanded with thanks to the staff who worked on these two groups.
