NETWORKED RESOURCES REDEFINITION INTEGRATION GROUP

Meeting Minutes

29 June 2001

Attending:  Nan Hyland (chair), Marty Kurth, Maureen Morris, David Block.

Focus Groups

The teeny, tiny subcommittee has been hard at work. It: identified facilitators and recorders for the groups, recruited 20 students for interrogation and reserved rooms in Goldwin Smith Hall for Tuesday, July 10, for the survey. It also wrote a set of questions; see last item in the notes. We still need to find five faculty surveylants. David and Nan will plead our case.We will meet with the facilitators at our next meeting to reach agreement on what we are measuring and how we intend to measure it.

Gateway mockup on Gould

Holly prepared a paper summarizing the programming issues that our proposed mockup ential for programmers. (It wasn't as straight-forward as we had hoped; but not impossible, either.) In the discussions of the paper, we realized that we will need to make contact with Angela Horn and the MyLibrary group to fully understand the interface between records and MyLibrary and to begin to discuss similar functionality in the 2000.xxx versions of Voyager.

Focus Group Questions

We picked at the questions a bit, especially at anticipated differences between faculty and student responses and how we might introduce our proposed changes in the Gateway without prejudicing responses. David mentioned the Internet use surveys that John Lubens has done at Duke [http://www.lib.duke.edu/lubans/john.html].

Minutes recorded by David Block.
