Notes from the October 8, 2003 Meeting

1) Proposed CUL public computing groups
Anne presented recommendations from the Public Services Executive Committee (PSEC) to create two new committees to provide guidance with regard to public computing. The first is intended to serve those units served by D-LIT's Desktop Services unit and the second is to be broader in scope, covering all of CUL. Desktop Services had requested public services input with regard to desktop software and applications on the public access work stations it manages but Anne encouraged broad system-wide input.  LMT decided to defer the formation of the committees and asked Tom to take the recommendation into account as part of the LARIS Information Technology review.

2) LARIS Work Force Planning Review process
LMT discussed the October 1-2 visit by the LARIS External Review Team and Sarah reported on her discussion with the Team at the end of their visit.
