Help: Research Strategy and Process:
Citation Management at
Cornell
Are you buried in
index cards or printouts from the library catalog and the web?
Citation management software helps you organize and manage the information you
gather during library research.
What is citation
management software?
Citation management software allows a user to organize and retrieve
information, typically citations for books, articles, and websites. Citation
management software, also sometimes called personal bibliographic database management
software, allows the user to create a database of library research citations
by interfacing with library databases. The citation manager then works with
word processing software to insert properly formatted footnotes or citations
into a paper and create a properly formatted bibliography.
Which citation management
programs are used at Cornell?
Individuals at Cornell use a range of programs, but the Cornell University
