(Ithaca, N.Y.) Jan. 6, 2016 – Cornell University Library has chosen the Kuali Open Library Environment (OLE) as its next Integrated Library System to manage acquisition, cataloging, circulation, inventory and other services related to electronic and physical library materials.
Kuali OLE is an open-source library management system built, owned and governed by the academic library community. Cornell University Library has now joined the Kuali OLE library partners from the U.S. and Europe and has begun the planning process for implementation.
“We believe that the Kuali Open Library Environment is the most viable option to meet our needs in the years ahead,” said Dean Krafft, chief technology strategist and director of information technology for Cornell University Library.
OLE will replace Cornell University Library’s current Integrated Library System, Ex Libris Voyager.
The Library will begin implementation in 2016, and expects to go live with OLE on July 1, 2017.
