Housed in the Imogene Powers Johnson Center for Birds and Biodiversity, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology Adelson Library became Cornell's newest library when it opened in May 2004. The collection contains a rich array of historical and contemporary ornithological materials, including an extensive selection of monographs and journals. Visitors to the Library can also take out binoculars for bird-watching at the Sapsucker Woods facility. The library is named for trustee Ellen G. Adelson '58, in recognition of her gift to underwrite its construction.
