Cornell University Library Information Technology (CUL-IT) is responsible for user-facing and internal IT systems in support of the Library’s mission. CUL-IT activities include: support for individual and public computers; IT security; IT project management; core services such as the library catalog; management and integration of external services; design, development and maintenance of websites and software applications; user experience design and accessibility; scholarly communications; and repository systems for access and preservation.
CUL-IT staff are part of IT at Cornell, collaborate closely with other library units, and engage in national and international library IT initiatives. As part of the IT at Cornell model, CUL-IT Director Debra Howell has a dual reporting relationship to Chief Information Officer Ben Maddox and to Associate University Librarian Simeon Warner.
